Smooth Move • Offered normally the last Wednesday monthly at 10:30am. For PCSing airmen & families whether it’s your first or your fifteenth move. Briefers from TMO, Finance, Tricare, Housing, Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) and the School Liaison Officer (SLO) will answer questions & provide tips on maximizing your next move. A&FRC Relo program will also show you tools to learn about your next base, learn cost of living for your new location and other planning tools to help with your PCS. Recommend attending 3-4 months prior to your PCS.
Home Buying: “Do’s and Don’ts”: Workshop on the home buying process, from start to finish. Learn how it is done and what you should know about making a huge investment. Additionally learn about VA certificates, mortgages, finding a home and what do you “qualify” for. This workshop is FREE and held throughout the year at A&FRC, BLDG 732, from 2pm-4pm.
How to Read Your Credit Report: How to Read and Interpret your Credit Report! This workshop provides information to increase your knowledge of reading and interpreting your credit report and know how the information is impacting your overall credit score. Learn how to read the report, and what exactly the “score” means.

Child Care for PCS • Child care is available for inbound and outbound families. If you are within days of PCSing, you are eligible for up to 20 hours of free child care. Stop by the A&FRC with a copy of your orders to receive a voucher.
Loan Closet • Bldg. 338. 759-3740 HOURS: M/W/F 10-2 and T & TH 1-5 Loan Closet: Offers temporary household items to assist with your PCS to or from McConnell. Items loaned include kitchen ware, futons, irons, ironing boards, vacuum cleaners and much more. Most items can be checked out for up to 30 days.
Right Start (Newcomer’s Orientation) • Right Start (Newcomer’s Orientation) . Right Start is held twice a month on a Tuesday between 7 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. in building 412, the Dole Community Center. Military members sign up when they check into the base with their Unit CSS. Service members are required to attend upon arrival. Spouses are welcome to attend.
Wichita Tour • Whether you are new to the area or just want a tour of the city, the Wichita Community Tour is for you! From 8:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m., join the Airman & Family Readiness Center as we take you on a FREE tour of Wichita! We’ll start off our day at the Airman & Family Readiness Center before boarding a bus to downtown Wichita. Then, we’ll spend the day getting acquainted with the museums, restaurants, attractions and sports arenas throughout the city! The tour is free, but each participant must purchase their own lunch. This tour is offered once a quarter please call the Airman & Family Readiness Center at (316) 759-6020 to ask for the next tour date.
