McConnell Civilian Wins MacBook in Air Force Club Member Appreciation Contest
Ms. Tierra Kimble, Marketing Director for the 22nd Force Support Squadron on McConnell AFB, beat out over 3000 entrants in the worldwide Air Force Club Member Appreciation Giveaway to win a brand new Apple MacBook.
Ms. Kimble has been a Club member since June 2016. After learning about Club membership benefits in the course of her position as marketing director, she said she knew it was worthwhile to sign up.
“At the time, Air Force Services Agency (AFSVA) was offering a promotion where you received a $25 Best Buy gift card just for signing up,” Kimble said. “A lot of people don’t take advantage of everyday Club membership benefits. Plus, they are always running contests, and
your chance of winning is pretty high.”
When Ms. Kimble saw the notification for the Club Member Appreciation Giveaway, she had an extra incentive to enter– she doesn’t have a home computer. Tired of having to go to the Library or use her phone every time she needed computer access, she said she had her eye on that prize in particular.
“I’m still kind of shocked,” Kimble said. “I’m in disbelief. It can be frustrating to pay your bills and live your life on a tiny phone screen. This is going to make everything so much easier.”
Club Member Appreciation Month ran from Nov. 1 – 23. In order to thank Club members for their support, AFSVA launched a giveaway at the beginning of the month. Club members could enter daily at MyAirForceLife.com, and prizes were given out throughout the month. Among the 3,191 entries, Kimble was 1 of 3 MacBook winners worldwide, and two other members at other locations won a $250 Ticketmaster gift card. Other prizes included two Curved 4K Ultra HD Smart LED TVs and the grand prize, a 2017 Jeep Wrangler in the color of the winner’s choice.
“The best advice I can give is to just enter,” Kimble said. “Enter every day. Set a reminder if you have to. Your chances of winning are high, and there are some great prizes. If you win just one time, it makes your monthly club dues worth it.”
