The McConnell Base Library offers several thousand items for check-out to include bestsellers, DVDs, music CDs, audiobooks, video games, young adult and children’s materials.  In addition to the fun “stuff,” the library has CLEP and Dantes study materials, Chief of Staff of the Air Force reading list titles, and study materials for the ACT, GED, Praxis, etc.  Need a computer?  The library provides access to 13 commercial (.com) computers with CAC card access and 2 government (.mil) computers. They also have 2 children’s computers. The Base Library also offers many programs for all ages—story time, homeschooling programs, craftaholics, teen and family programs, as well as Wifi for their customers and the “Best in Air Force” Summer Reading Program!!  The Summer Reading Program runs during the months of June and July with activities, contests, prizes, live performers, and much more.  No matter your age, interests, life style, the McConnell Air Force Base Library has something for you!  Plus, the staff is available to answer questions and assist you with your needs.   COME IN AND HANG OUT!!  The library is located in the Education Wing of the Dole Community Center. The Base Library is here for YOU!  If you can get on base, you can use the library.

Our Collection

  • Books:  We have a wide variety of books available for all age groups. These books include fiction, nonfiction, study materials, young adult, graphic novels, junior fiction, junior nonfiction, easy fiction, easy nonfiction, and board books.
  • Audio Books:  Audiobooks are typically in CD format, but can also be found in a preloaded MP3 format, for which you only need to plug in earbuds. Audiobooks are a great way to pass the time during a long car ride, a workout, or simply a way to listen to your favorite books. Audiobooks are available for children through adults.
  • DVDs:  We offer a large collection of DVDs. All DVDs, except our animated children’s DVDs, are located in the adult area. The animated children’s DVDs are located in the children’s room.
  • Study Materials:  CLEP, Dantes, ASVAB, GRE, GED, and much more! We provide the tools needed to be successful in whatever your education goals may be.
  • Chief of Staff:  Once per year, the Air Force Chief of Staff selects a variety of library materials to support their message to their fellow Airmen. The Library have the selected items available for check out.
  • Graphic Novels:  A variety of graphic novels, books in comic book format, are available for children, young adults, and adults.
  • Video Games:  We have games compatible with most video game consoles including: XboxOne, Xbox360, PlayStation4, Playstation3, WiiU, Wii, Nintendo DS, and Nintendo 3 DS.
  • Launchpads:  Take age appropriate, educational, games for your children on the go with our LaunchPads! With our collection of LaunchPads, there is something for every child ages three to 10+!
  • Backpacks:  Our backpacks offer themes geared towards all ages of children and families. With a selection of more than sixty backpacks, from Farm Animals to Family Game Night backpack, we have what you need to keep your family entertained!
  • Foreign Languages:  Are you interested in learning Spanish, Arabic, or maybe Japanese? We have a number of foreign language learning materials, including books, CDs, and the Air Force’s language program, Mango.
