September 9 @ 8:00 AM - September 13 @ 4:30 PM
Are you a senior NCO or officer separating from the Air Force or another service? Let us guide you during the Senior Transition Assistance Program (TAP), a multi-day workshop intended to help you bridge the gap between active-duty life and the civilian sector by leading you through steps to plan for your new stage of life. Participants will begin with pre-separation counseling, where he or she will develop an Individual Transition Plan (ITP) to identify his or her career planning needs. Next, the participant will attend the DOL Employment Workshop, where an instructor will focus on the mechanics of obtaining employment in today’s job market.
During the workshop, each participant will receive help with preparing his or her resume and practice interview skills. Lastly, Senior TAP includes the VA Benefits I and II class, which explains what benefits each service member has earned and how to obtain them. This class takes place in the Airman & Family Readiness Center (Bldg. 732) and runs from 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. each day. Please bring your own laptop if you have one– if you don’t A&FRC will check out a laptop for you to use during the class. The cost is free, but you must register at least two days prior to the class by calling the Airman & Family Readiness Center at (316) 759-6020.
