Family Summer Reading Program- Didgeridoo Down Under
July 12, 2018 @ 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM
The McConnell AFB Library is celebrating our two themes for the 2018 Summer Reading Program: “Libraries Rock!” and “Reading Takes You Everywhere” Throughout the summer, we will host a variety of programs for our patrons to enjoy. There will be interactive programs for families each week to encouraging movement and reading. Summer Reading is an opportune time for families to connect through fun. All programs are free, but registration in the Summer Reading Program is required.
DDU is a high-energy, Australia-themed show that combines music, culture, puppetry, comedy, character building, storytelling and audience participation. The didgeridoo, usually a hollow tree trunk, has been played by Aboriginal Australians for at least 1,500 years and is known for its otherworldly sound. But DDU is much more than music. It’s interactive, educational, motivational and super fun – perfect for kids and families. To learn more visit here!
The 2018 Summer Reading Program is open to pre-readers through adults. Join us for this event on 12 July in the Dole Center Ballroom! For more information, call the Library at (316) 759-4207.
