Air Force 101: Spouse Orientation
May 9 @ 8:30 AM - 3:00 PM
Your spouse has joined the military and you find yourself in a new lifestyle with a spouse who speaks a whole new language of acronyms. Now, what do you do?
Help ease the adjustment with Air Force 101: Spouse Orientation, a program designed to introduce new spouses and caregivers to the Air Force! Learn about Air Force missions, customs, traditions and protocols to gain a better understanding of military life. Then, get your questions answered concerning different elements of military life, including military pay and allowances, identification cards, legal services, medical, and more. We’ll also introduce different services that are offered on base to help you with specific family situations, including pursuing a degree, finding employment, starting a family, and more. Next, hear from different squadrons to help you understand what the men and women of McConnell do on an everyday basis, including an unclassified briefing about deployed locations where McConnell airmen are serving. You’ll end the day with a graduation ceremony, where you’ll receive a free commemorative coin and certification of completion.
This class runs from 8:30 am – 3:00 pm in the Airman & Family Readiness Center (A&FRC), Bldg. 732 on 9 May. The class is free, but please sign up at least two days prior to the class by calling A&FRC at (316) 759-6020 (and yes, A&FRC is one of those acronyms! )
